Braves Lineup: Duvall, Tromp Set to Face Mets' Quintana

The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets are set to conclude their weather-shortened three-game series on Thursday afternoon at Truist Park. The Braves will send out Allan Winans for his season debut, while the Mets counter with veteran left-hander Jose Quintana.

For Atlanta, manager Brian Snitker has stuck with the same lineup that was announced for Wednesday’s postponed game. Adam Duvall gets the nod in left field against the lefty Quintana, a pitcher he has enjoyed success against in the past. Duvall is 3-for-8 with two home runs in his career versus Quintana. Chadwick Tromp will be behind the plate and hit ninth.

Second baseman Ozzie Albies has also fared well historically against Quintana, batting .600 (6-for-10) with a pair of homers. The Braves’ top four of Ronald Acuña Jr., Albies, Austin Riley, and Matt Olson remain intact.

Atlanta’s full lineup: Acuña RF, Albies 2B, Riley 3B, Olson 1B, Marcell Ozuna DH, Duvall LF, Michael Harris II CF, Orlando Arcia SS, Tromp C.

On the Mets’ side, manager Buck Showalter has Francisco Alvarez catching and batting sixth. DJ Stewart gets the designated hitter slot and will hit eighth, boasting a .400 average (2-for-5) with a homer against Winans. Harrison Bader is in center field and batting ninth.

New York’s batting order: Brandon Nimmo LF, Starling Marte RF, Francisco Lindor SS, Pete Alonso 1B, Brett Baty 3B, Alvarez C, Jeff McNeil 2B, Stewart DH, Bader CF.

The series finale has a scheduled first pitch of 12:20 p.m. ET and will be televised on Bally Sports South. With both teams locked in a tight divisional race, every game takes on added importance as they jockey for early position in the competitive NL East.
