Texans Unveil H-Town Inspired Alternate Logo

The Houston Texans are gearing up for a fresh new look in 2024, and they’ve just given fans a sneak peek at one of the key elements of their upcoming uniform redesign - an alternate logo featuring a bold “H” in a vibrant “H-Town Blue” hue.

According to the article, a video surfaced on social media that appeared to show one of the Texans’ new helmets for the 2024 season. The helmet, described as a deep steel blue color, featured a light blue “H” logo outlined in red – a nod to the team’s “Luv Ya Blue” heritage without infringing on the trademarks of the Tennessee Titans.

The leaked video quickly caught the attention of Texans owner Cal McNair, who took to social media to confirm the authenticity of the alternate logo, posting a photo of himself wearing a cap emblazoned with the “H” design, along with his dog sporting a matching chain featuring the same logo.

This new alternate logo is a direct response to fan feedback gathered by the Texans during their extensive research and focus group sessions leading up to the uniform redesign. According to Doug Vosik, the team’s senior vice president of marketing, communications, and ticket sales, fans expressed a desire for the uniforms to better represent the city of Houston and its “H-Town” identity.

“Fans challenged us back a little bit and they said, ‘When I wear Texans gear, I’m repping my city. We love repping the H when it comes to Texans gear. What do y’all think of that, Texans?’” Vosik explained. “So, we poked a little bit more and said, ‘Do you just want a new H on more hats, hoodies and shirts?’ And some of them challenged us pretty clearly and said, maybe it would be cool if that was somehow on a sleeve or on the back of a jersey or how do you bring that H identity, rep the H, into the uniform? And we took that challenge very seriously when the fans told us that.”

The Texans have made it clear that their new uniform lineup, consisting of four distinct designs, is intended to cater to a diverse range of fan preferences. While some may gravitate toward more traditional looks, others will undoubtedly embrace the bold and modern aesthetic of the alternate “H” logo.

“Over four uniforms, we’ve delivered something different on each one based upon the fan feedback,” Vosik stated. “So, our hope is when you look across the four, if every fan can at least find one or two where they said, ‘That was my feedback, the Texans listened, the Texans delivered,’ then we’ve done our job.”

The unveiling of the alternate “H” logo is just the beginning of the Texans’ uniform redesign journey. Fans can expect more surprises and reveals as the team gears up for the 2024 season, showcasing a fresh and innovative approach to their on-field aesthetic while paying homage to the city’s rich sports heritage.
