Spanish Teen Makes History, Breaks Ramos' Record

In a remarkable achievement, 17-year-old Barcelona starlet Pau Cubarsi etched his name into Spanish footballing folklore by becoming the youngest defender to make his debut for the national team. The highly-rated teenager surpassed the long-standing record previously held by Spanish legend Sergio Ramos, who was 18 years and 11 months old when he first donned the famous red jersey. Cubarsi’s dream came true on Friday night when he replaced Aymeric Laporte in the 80th minute of Spain’s friendly clash against Colombia at the iconic London Stadium.
