In a move aimed at strengthening their bowling attack ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has roped in former Pakistan pacer Aaqib Javed as the national team’s fast bowling coach. The 50-year-old, who is currently serving as the director of cricket operations and head coach of the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Premier League, will work with the Sri Lankan side until the conclusion of the marquee ICC event scheduled to be held in the West Indies and USA.

The ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been an absolute run-fest, with some of the best batters in the world showcasing their skills on the grand stage. As the tournament approaches its business end, one man stands tall above the rest – Babar Azam, the modern-day batting great from Pakistan. Azam, representing the Peshawar Zalmi franchise, has been in scintillating form throughout the tournament, amassing a staggering 544 runs in just 10 innings, including a highest score of 111 not out.
