Capitals Bounce Back, Edge Jets in Shootout Thriller
The Washington Capitals bounced back from consecutive losses in emphatic fashion, defeating the Winnipeg Jets 7-6 in a high-scoring shootout thriller on Sunday afternoon. The game was a back-and-forth affair that had fans on the edge of their seats until the final moments.
Washington got off to a fast start, with Alex Ovechkin opening the scoring just over two minutes into the contest. The Jets responded quickly though, as Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor tallied to give Winnipeg a 2-1 lead after one period.
