Cink Shines, Valspar Championship Halted by Darkness
The second round of the 2024 Valspar Championship was a tale of perseverance as players battled relentless rain showers and fading daylight at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida. Among those undeterred by the challenging conditions was the seasoned 50-year-old Stewart Cink, who carded an impressive 4-under 67 to surge into a five-way tie for the lead at 6-under 136.
Cink found himself in elite company atop the leaderboard, joined by first-round leader Kevin Streelman (72), Chandler Phillips (68), Brendon Todd (69), and Canadian Mackenzie Hughes (68).
